2025 original oil painting on panel, 11 × 14”
Painted en plein air in August 2025 in Conway, Massachusetts using a paint scraper and palette knife. I love this wetland in our town and when I paint here I recall that before I arrived there had been a massive effort to prevent a pipeline from being built right through here. I visited this spot at the end of the day for three evenings. Admittedly the spot looked completely different each time and with each passing moment as the light changed. What I loved most and tried to capture was the glow of the sun on the wildflowers and in the bowl of the darkening surroundings.
