I love the purple-blue of shadows on snow in February. There’s no color like it and whenever I can I attempt to capture it. On this bright morning the snow was shining in the sun and the shadows seemed particularly beautiful to me as they stretched across the hilly lawn across from my studio. I painted this scene looking out the window.
