The Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls, MA is a former trolley bridge converted in 1929 to a pedestrian garden by the local women’s club. It has been maintained by volunteers continuously since 1929! I made this painting on a July afternoon. The light became more and more golden and the river smoother and calmer over the two hours I took in painting.
