Black Walnuts, Hardig's Field (May), 2019, soft pastel on gessoed paper, 9x10"
Painted en plein air on a hot, sunny morning in the beautiful field of black walnuts across the street from my home in rural Conway, MA.
Ships flat, protected by glassine wrapping.
Pastels are pure, dry pigments, held together with a small amount of binder. This pure color is part of what makes pastel paintings so beautiful. Because fixative can change the color and destroy the way the pigment particles reflect light, I do not use fixative on my paintings. Pastel paintings must be framed under glass. Please plan to have your pastel professionally framed.
